FFU Test Bench Design and Basis

● The standardization of FFU test bench design and test standards was originally derived from the FFU test method draft issued by the Institute of Environmental Science &Technology (IEST), which was mainly derived from the research work of Dr. Xu Tengfang.
● In 2012, the Chinese Academy of Building Sciences prepared the construction industry industry standard JGT388-2012 Fan Filter Unit with reference to the draft;
● In 2014, IEST officially released FFU test method IEST-RP-CC036.1: 2014 "Testing Fan Filter Units";

● In 2020, China Refrigeration and Air conditioning industry Association (CRAA) officially released the group standard T/CRAA 435-2020 Test Method for Fan Filter Unit. T/CRAA 435-2020 improved the test content and test method based on JG/T 388-2012 and IEST-RP-CC036.1:2014, and standardized the test method and report form of FFU performance, providing necessary reference for users and suppliers.
● There is no uniform formal standard for each manufacturer when building the test bench. One of the laboratory test devices was rebuilt according to the European standard EN779-2012 General Ventilation Air Filter Performance Test Method. The test device is shown in Figure 1. The operation state of the FFU can be changed to any working condition by adjusting the speed of the auxiliary fan, the valve and the FFU fan.
